Creamy Brown Rice and Quinoa Porridge

  • ½ cup brown rice, short grain
  • ½ cup quinoa
  • 4 to 5 cups of water
  • salt
  • organic brown rice syrup
  • pumpkin seeds
  • fresh fruit of your choice


  1. Soak the brown rice overnight. Drain the water and add the rice to a saucepan. Add the rinsed quinoa, water and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil on medium-high heat. Once you have a good boil going, cover and lower the heat. Let it simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Check on the mixture. When all the water is gone, it's ready to eat. Serve in a bowl with a drizzle of brown rice syrup or any other sweetener that you prefer. Add pumpkin seeds or chopped nuts for that extra crunch and top it off with a fruit of your choice.
